Metakse Hakobyan, deputy of Artsakh’s National Assembly’s Justice faction, told NEWS.am during the spontaneous rally that started on October 8 in Renaissance Square that the movement for the defense of Artsakh is being launched.
“Right now, the authorities should come out, stand by the people, and oppose Nikol’s regime. There is no other option. Otherwise, they are with Nikol, and they put the stamp on Artsakh’s surrender with Nikol. They have that one option. It is a lie to talk to Nikol, negotiate, etc. Right now they should come out, go down to the Renaissance Square, and stand next to the people.”
The deputy also noted that the people in Artsakh oppose the head of the Armenian government and understand very well that everything depends on him, and in order to protect their home, place, homeland, they can oppose both him and the international community. “We have not received signals from the international community. We only hear from Nikol that the international community demands this or that. The rage has set in and I think it’s hard to deal with. People protect their homes,” Metakse Hakobyan concluded.
The participants of the rally called on Artsakh, Armenia, and all Armenians to come out in their places of residence and make the voice of Artsakh more audible.
