“The Armenian people will not rely on those states that today are conducting policies that lead to such passionate and double standards,” declared Aram Sargsyan, a member of the alternative socio-political movement “Together” in front of the US Embassy. As we have already informed, on the initiative of the alternative socio-political movement “Together,” a public gathering was organized in front of the US Embassy on the issues of ensuring the security of Artsakh Armenians and the full implementation of the right to self-determination, as well as the protection of democracy in RA.
The movement also distributed a manifesto addressed to Christina Quinn, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the USA to Armenia, in which the campaign demands are fixed. According to Aram Sargsyan, it was a surprise for them the representative of the US State Department, Matthew Miller, to consider the statements made by Aliyev to the authorities of Artsakh as a palpable and welcomed step.
Aram Sargsyan said in a conversation with Aravot.am: “Especially when the reaction happened in RA and Artsakh, they did not consider it necessary to soften or correct or explain in any other way what the so-called amnesty means for them. First, let’s start with the fact that amnesty, in the sense expressed by Aliyev, refers to criminals, especially the elite of Artsakh Armenians, in his opinion, as criminal people. And for him to forgive them, he demanded that they come headlong to him. In that case, it is impossible not to understand what Aliyev said.
Finally, the US Embassy in Baku also heard all this and sent a corresponding message to the State Department. And now it’s difficult to understand, the US, which not only yesterday acted as the co-chair country of the Minsk Group and supported the right of self-determination of the Artsakh Armenians, what is it defending now, what idea is it defending today? Now suddenly, what happened that they forgot about realizing the right of self-determination of Artsakh Armenians and started praising Aliyev makes such a statement? Aram Sargsyan said that he could give a particular explanation.

He said: “If today’s so-called RA government, its leader, declares that it recognizes the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and gives the number, then they can say: go and clarify with your leadership. But we have clearly said that we do not share and cannot consider that today’s official, who has taken such responsibility for himself, is authorized to make such statements. According to any Constitution or law, he has no such right because the Artsakh Armenians have determined themselves, and the Artsakh Armenians have determined their status. Therefore, no one has the authority to change or revise the status of Artsakh because it was achieved due to a popular referendum.”
