September 2 of this year, the day of the declaration of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, is unique in its importance. And the reason is not that we lost the war; we lost today; tomorrow, I’m sure, we will win. The uniqueness lies in that for the first time in 32 years, we have a leader of Armenia who does not accept September 2, that is, the day of the NKR declaration. He declares that Artsakh is a part of Azerbaijan, so the Artsakh Republic does not exist.
Of course, one can deceive people and say that, for example, something similar is written in the Declaration of Alma-Ata. Who is going to read what is written in this or that document? But the usual logic suggests the following: since after the signing of this declaration, the OSCE Minsk Group was established, one of whose functions was to determine the status of Nagorno -Karabakh; it implies that it was not decided before that.
But all those subtleties aside. There is an irrefutable fact: until October 2022, no leader of Armenia, no matter how good or bad he was, declared that Artsakh is a part of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Russia needed precisely that, and they remind us of that statement every day.
Do you accept that Karabakh is Azerbaijan? So we cannot open the Lachin Corridor. Moreover, if you accept it, contribute to the integration of the Armenians living there into Azerbaijan. The word “integration” is just a euphemism for national cleansing, and there is no one who does not understand it.

All these circumstances significantly changed the meaning of September 2. It’s a unique barrier. Some people respect the will of Artsakh citizens, their right to self-determination, and, therefore, to have a state. Some people do not respect.
I do not consider that second group “enemy,” “countryless,” or, even more so, “poghos.” It is not an arena of labels and insults. If the majority of Armenian citizens reject the existence of the Republic of Artsakh, then they also reject the Republic of Armenia. And that should be clear to everyone.
