Official opening ceremony of sitting halls of RA NA Standing Committees takes place

Making the work of the National Assembly more convenient and technically equipped permanently exceeds the expected result. We already have such experience, when as a result of cooperation with you gave new breath to our daily work and created additional interest towards National Assembly. The RA NA President Alen Simonyan said this during the official opening ceremony of the sitting halls of the Standing Committees of the National Assembly on December 4.

The Speaker of the Parliament thanked the international structures for the implementation of the initiative, as a result of which the transparency of the activity of the NA Standing Committees will be technically more visible for the voters. “The implemented work and the exemplary experience of cooperation, I think, should be continuous,” Alen Simonyan said.

The Ambassadors accredited in Armenia, the Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in the Republic of Armenia Natia Natsvlishvili, the NA Chief of Staff, Secretary General Davit Arakelyan, deputies, representatives from the Parliament Staff took part in the opening ceremony.

“Technically equipped wonderful working environment for the parliamentary work: The clear results of the implemented works are evident,” the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Sweden to Armenia Patrik Svensson said, underscoring that the Government of Sweden is ready to support the democratic agenda of Armenia within the framework of different programmes. Appreciating the works done in the frameworks of the Modern Parliament for a Modern Armenia (MAP) project, the Ambassador expressed willingness for the continuity of cooperation.

Congratulating the attendees on the opening of the technically equipped halls, Natia Natsvlishvili highlighted the availability of such halls, expressing conviction the parliamentary debates will be held more effectively.

The NA Chief of Staff, Secretary General Davit Arakelyan noted that the repaired halls are considered to be an evident example for cooperation with the international colleagues. He expressed hope that the cooperation with the international partners will be continuous and thanked them for the works done. Davit Arakelyan presented the technical equipment of the halls.

The deputies also thanked the international partners for providing the halls with technical equipment, underlining that the work will be noticeably facilitated in such halls.

It is worth mentioning that the UNDP Modern Parliament for a Modern Armenia (MAP) project financed by the Government of Sweden provided the technical equipment for the halls of the Standing Committees of the National Assembly.
