NO VOTERS FROM ARMENIA

July 18,2007 00:00

Sergey Nasibyan, the chairman of the NKR Central Electoral Commission (CEC) denied the affirmations presented by Masis Mayilyan\’s headquarters.

NKR CEC chairman Sergey Nasibyan answered NKR presidential candidate Masis Mayilyan\’s applications only yesterday, the last day of the campaign. According to the answer the arguments of that application were examined in the CEC. In answer to the complain that Bako Sahakyan\’s poster is glued up on the front doors of community officers of several NKR villages, CEC found out that the circumstance showed that the community officers were unaware of the Electoral Code, so it ordered again to “all regional electoral commissions to be careful for the propaganding materials”.
It was mentioned in Masis Mayiliyan\’s application on July 16, that the electoral lists are being artificially filled: ” In particular, persons who don\’t live in Karabagh are forced to move from the Republic of Armenia to NKR regions, Kashatagh, Shushi, Shahumyan: they are accounted for the upcomin presidential elections”. Sergey Nasibyan told “Aravot” on this occasion: “They can find out, only those persons from Kashatagh and Shahumyan are accounted who were registered last year to participate in the Constitutional referendum. Those regions are ressetlement regions , and those people live there and participate din the referendum. But they were temporary accounted till the end of 2006. As the date of accounting is expired, it was prolonged till the end of 2007. I talked to the chief of police myself, and asked the head of territorial commission to check out in passport section”.
The NKR CEC official answer to Masis Mayilyan\’s presented infringement is the following: “Central Electoral Commission was unable to discuss your affirmations about several attempts to impede pre-electoral campaign or several doubts presented in your applications as it was out of the CEC commission\’s framework”.

P.S. In answer to our question how many percents of voters will participate in the upcoming presidential elections, Mr. Nasibyan told: “Our voters actively participate” and predicted “more than 60-70%”. The number of voters is 91, 166.
