Yesterday, at around 7:05 p.m., a violent murder was committed in a private-house neighborhood on Lalayan Street, Gyumri. 21-year-old resident of that neighborhood Harutyun Harutyunyan stabbed 10 times 77-year-old Rosa Khachatryan to death. The latter, being stabbed and losing much blood, found the strength to leave the house and call for help. Meanwhile she told who the one who had stabbed her was, she also said that Harutyunyan had broken into her house for 5000 AMD. Whereas Harutyun said in his testimony that he asked the old woman to change a 5000-AMD note, but being refused, had decided to avenge.
They have not been able to rescue the 77-year-old woman, she has bled to death. Charges have been brought against the young man alleged to have committed a homicide, he is arrested and faces 8-15 years of imprisonment. There is information that this young man has been discharged from army because of neurosis.
Let us mention that 77-year-old Rosa Khachatryan had 4 children, 3 of which are abroad and one lives in Ani neighborhood of Gyumri. The woman rented a studio apartment, she was to get an apartment in a newly-built neighborhood of Gyumri.
