Armenian Ministry of Healthcare and the whole healthcare system has always expressed readiness and today is ready to provide medical aid to any Armenian citizen in need, the ministry reports in a press statement.
The statement reads that all the citizens who have sustained injuries in the armed incident at the patrol police regiment on July 17 received proper medical aid and their health condition is under the daily control of the Minister of Health.
The statement added that the majority of the victims received necessary treatment and discharged from the hospital, others have received treatment in ambulatory conditions,
The statement released by the ministry next stresses that damaging the ambulance and taking the driver as a hostage, the use of an arm during the negotiations, shootings do not create favorable conditions for providing medical aid and hinders the professional activities of the medical personnel.
The ministry next informs that around 6-7 ambulances are stationed next to the scene of the armed incident and offering a rapid medical assistance in case of necessity.
As to the issue of providing medical aid to the injured member of the armed group, the ministry says, it has repeatedly recommended to hospitalize him in order to organize his stationary treatment, yet the armed group has constantly rejected the suggestion.
“Once again, we call on to refrain from the practice of obstructing the professional activities of the doctors, who remain helpful and devoted, as well as avoid further tensions,” concludes the statement.
