“We have volunteers from the US, Russia and Israel.  They are waiting for an instruction every second”. Head of YVU Shirak regional branch

November 26,2016 13:04

Head of Shirak branch of the Erkrapah Union of Volunteers (YVU), Yuri Alexanyan, who regularly visits the front line with volunteers, in an interview with Aravot.am, said that the tension at this moment is eased slightly, the enemy has finished its drills near the border but there is always a danger to expect.  “You cannot predict what the enemy is thinking, at this point the Turk is alert but his vigilance is more of fear, while our soldiers show an intention to attack first, the guys are inclined that one day there would be a command to return the little lost or they will be given the chance to take more,” said Yura Alexanyan.

According to him, after each visit, it was noticed that a lot of drawbacks have been corrected, the four-day war was a unique lesson in this sense.  According to Yura Alexanyan, people, in these days, are still coming to be enrolled as volunteers and compel to take them to Artsakh.  “After the April war, today, by saying an army, each one understands his house, his neighbor, his nation, his city, and everyone’s attention is focused on the army, today, opposition, non-opposition, poor and rich, everybody cares about the army.  Many people are coming, we say that we cannot call you up, there is no need for it, but they are upset, as long as no final solution is given to this problem, people cannot sleep with peace in their heart.  They as always without any expectations are ready and willing to quit their job and the opportunity to earn their daily bread and be in the front line next to the soldier.

There were people during the Artsakh war that have got up from bed almost dead and have come to the battlefield, a man who had two heart attacks was sitting in the trench for two days, people next to him were excited telling to take him away as he may die all of a sudden, now, imagine how the guys were excited…  A school-age boy 16 years old ran away from home, took a taxi and came to Artsakh, we hardly sent him back.  Although I do not want to mention any names but currently there are currently people enrolled as volunteers from Moscow, Astrakhan, Rostov, Odessa, US, France and Israel …  They are waiting for the instruction any moment, they were beside us during the Artsakh war… In the case of the resumption of hostilities, they will come to Artsakh again,” said Yura Alexanyan.  He informed that the Erkrapah Union of Volunteers has branches in almost all regions of Russia as well as in the US state of California and in the city of Marseille, France.
