Since the Earthquake in 1988 more then a quarter century later, over 3000 families, as well as lonely old people are still living in temporary, tumbledown houses. Most of them are living on their pension, which is not enough almost for utilites. Lack of food has become a normal thing.
As the temporary houses has become less, the most lonely people have to live alone, in helpless condition. They feel lonely especially in holidays: at the New Year night, when they spend it alone in their little houses.
Thant,s why ,,Shirak Centre” is organizing a party for the lonely old people ,,Lets meet New Year together”. It will begin in the evening on the 31st of December and will go on till the morning on the 1st of January at full, luxury tables in the fairy decorated hall in ,,Shirak Centre’’.
With the help of the voluntaries the lonely old people at the age of 50-50 will be taken to the party hall. Deving the holiday they will sit at the full tables, will sing and dance with Santa. They will meet New Year together and only in the morning they will be taken to their houses.

The party expenditure will be least 500.000 AMD, and 250.000 AMD for making food bags and giving it to them.
Apart from the monthly budget, donations have been made to distribute fire wood to families in need.
