Yerevan mayor candidate Zaruhi Postanjyan continued her campaign in Nubarashen landfill. She paid attention to how the waste is being cultivated, more accurate is being burnt polluting the environment:
“The elimination of the waste through this retarded way have been stopped in the whole world. They could have recycled the waste and get products and also electricity. But as the whole system in the Republic of Armenia is corrupt, Yerevan municipal declined the implementation of that project, as an alternative operating company can be a competitor to the companies who produce electricity. Therefore the project was declined and now they continue to exploit the landfill in the same way. Toxic gas emissions are spreading, the smoke goes to Yerevan, we breathe it. The grunt water also pollutes the environment, and it is a crime. Because of that crime, we are getting sick, our young women obtain sterility, we are deprived of the new generation. The chain of this crime leads to Baghramyan 26. Taron Margaryan was not sovereign to decline that project.”
Zaruhi Postanjyan said that they must eliminate the landfill. To the remark, that Taron Margaryan also was in Nubarashen, and has promised to eliminate the landfill and to create green zones in that place, Zaruhi Postanjyan answered: “We have already heard that from Serzh Sargsyan. Those promises have nothing to do with reality. We are coming to say that we are not going to tolerate this waste anymore. We can invest the best projects. We can implement these projects through special companies, which does not have any interest. The view of this landfill is the face of RPA.”
