“Artsakh is not surprised when Ilham Aliyev sits in front of Serzh Sargsyan, looks into his eyes, talks about ceasefire, but after two days there are victims again on the frontline,” during an interview with journalists in the Parliament of the Republic of Armenia Arzik Mkhitaryan, the chairman of standing committee on Foreign Relations of the Republic of Artsakh.
Artsakh condemns the position of Aliyev. Mrs. Mkhitaryan does not like that the official Stepanakert is out of negotiation process over Artsakh issue: “It is not acceptable that the solution of Artsakh’s political problem is carried out without the participation of Artsakh. One of the main problems for the people of Artsakh is to restore the rights of Artsakh and we will be able to participate in the solution of our fate. We do not doubt that Armenian delegations at the parliamentary diplomacy level, indeed defend the peaceful resolution of Artsakh conflict. But it is not a normal phenomenon, to try to solve the problem of the nation, which does not participate in the process.”
Arzik Arzumanyan answering to question how can Artsakh return to the negotiation table and one of her colleagues noted that it is possible only with war, said that people of Artsakh are always ready for a war. They have this perception since 1988 when Sumgait crime was committed as an answer to the peaceful demands: “It is also obvious that Azerbaijan does not pursue political solutions. It does not have that posture which can suggest political solutions. Because of this maybe the politician is somehow right, that our only way to return to the negotiations is the war. But I believe that political culture exists, which both Armenia and Azerbaijan pursue. In my opinion, it should be reached at the parliamentary diplomacy level.”
Aravot.am asked Arzik Minasyan, whether Armenian sides make enough efforts to return Artsakh to the negotiations table, she replied: “Artsakh’s parliament does not have the tools to defend its rights in international platforms. Our only diplomatic channel is the delegation of the Republic of Armenia, which defends our rights in Europe. I believe that they should make efforts.”
