Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan spoke in a live stream on Monday about two important issues: the local self-government elections that took place on Sunday and the current political situation.
He spoke about the elections in Kapan, where Narek Babayan ran as a member of the acting prime minister’s political party, but Gevorg Parsyan won the election. Parsyan does not belong to any political party.
“This was the largest democratic victory in the history of the Third Republic,” Pashinyan said, referring to the election results as being unprecedented. “I consider what took place to be very important. The citizens made their decision, and the government did not make any moves. It did not even try to enforce its logic onto the citizens. Friends, this is why we revolted, and this revolution won. You won.”
