Deputy Hrachya Hakobyan of the “Yelq” faction told Aravot that he thinks the ARF is secretly collaborating with the RPA on something, but the details are hidden. ARF faction leader Armen Rustamyan said, “First, if we do anything, it’s public and we don’t do it secretly. If we did something, we would do it in such a way that would make it obvious not only for other deputies, but for everyone else, too. We don’t do anything secret and we will not be doing anything secretly. Our party believes that if you’re right, even if what is right for you is not accepted by everyone, you have to voice your opinion so that you can achieve what it is you dream of. We don’t have any problems with collaborating with the RPA.”
Rustamyan spoke about why they did not join the petition for the Electoral Code. He said that they will join when they participate in elections and when they help to write it. It is not necessary to ask the ARF for signatures. “They are trying to pressure us by saying that since the ARF refused to sign, it means we’re against it. Now you can see through being for or against it which one they brought to the table. We are in favor of the suggestion but we are against the vote. Now the same fake situation needs to continue. It’s easy to blame others… it’s not understandable or acceptable for us that when we agree to something, those agreements are ignored. There is no other issue for us.”
Rustamyan also stated that the ARF will not be participating in the upcoming elections.
