Member of the Armenian boxing team and of the 52 kg group Artur Hovhannisyan defeated Azeri boxer Masud Yusifzade and will continue in the 20th annual World Boxing Championships in Yekaterinburg, Russia.

63 kg Hovhannes Bachkov from Gyumri also secured a victory against Colombian Jose Manuel Viafara Fori.
