As a result of the non-violent revolution in 2018, Armenia became a center of democracy on the world map. Now, it has begun an economic revolution as a way to evaluate every citizen’s individual efforts. Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan spoke about this at the opening ceremony of WCIT 2019.
According to Pashinyan, “The economic revolution taking place in Armenia will also support a technological revolution, and we will be able to turn Armenia into one of the most technologically innovative countries in the world. This is realistic for us due to the fact that many Armenians are the creators of technological investments.”
Then, Pashinyan listed the dozes of inventions created by Armenians, such as the first computer in the Soviet Union, the sonograph, and the green color of the dollar bills. The guests applauded, which caused Pashinyan to smile and say, “Don’t be in such a hurry. That’s not all.” He continued to list Armenians’ achievements. “We believe that we can turn Armenia into a country for talented people.”
