Dear reporters,
I warmly congratulate you on Armenian Press Day. This is another occasion to value your role, your work, including in the most important process of creating New Armenia.
Mass media and freedom of speech are among the most important institutions of democracy. Our government is taking consistent steps and will continue to do everything to ensure that our homeland confidently proceeds along the path of democracy.
A vivid evidence of our steps is Armenia’s unprecedented progress in the World Press Freedom Index, released by the Reporters Without Borders leading international organization: our country has improved its positions by 19 points and is now ranked 61st.
