The authorities blamed their opponents of being financed by several forces in the West, and they particularly claimed that those forces were doing everything possible since the year 1995 to make our “wonderful” elections look bad. But the opposition, on the other hand, blamed the authorities for carrying out all of the Kremlin’s orders in order to maintain their authority. The situation made a 180 turn after the Velvet Revolution. Now, the authorities are being presented as pro-Western, pro-Soros, and anti-national. They are also accused of going against our centuries-old traditions.
