“Since 1991, the national dream and the national statehood that would allow the formation of the understanding of the national statehood’s identity were not prioritized. Instead, it was said that the most important thing is prosperity. And there was no sense of prosperity in those perceptions. It just went so far as to say that these are financial problems,” said Genesis Armenia’s Director of Security and the executive director of the International Center for Human Development Tevan Poghosyan during a discussion titled “Unfinished War” organized by Genesis Armenia.
“There was the biggest wave of emigration in the 90s, and in 1998, 800 thousand people left victorious Armenia. Now imagine how many will leave the defeated Armenia,” said Tevan Poghosyan.
He added that any war is planned and, according to him, wars do not come from thin air. “Azerbaijan, which was planning a war, never kept it a secret. The question is, did we realize these actions, or did we prepare ourselves for that planned war? It is possible to quote 1,000 and one times: the best defense is attack or talk about peace. The question is, did we really plan to defend, did we plan to give it up, or did we want to lose… The essence does not change. The biggest problem at the moment is that even if you were a bad manager who had miscalculations or values that were a treacherous approach, and after November 10, after seeing the results of your policy, you did not leave, that is betrayal to the national team,” said the Executive Director of the International Center for Human Development.

“Suppose I forget what happened before November 10, there will be a discussion, there will be an investigation, there will be information, it will be published, now I put all this aside… But if after November 10 you do not make conscious changes where it did not work, this is a national betrayal. The world very easily programmed the team that made changes in Armenia in a few months from 2018, and even if they did not consciously go for it, they guided them in a very nice way.
