“We are not a ruling, governing elite; we are average citizens of Armenia who received this mandate. What is in people’s minds and hearts is the same in us, starting with me,” said Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in a conversation with journalists at the National Assembly.
According to him, the citizens see the results of their administration and gave an example. “You say citizens don’t feel the changes. Citizens can’t help but feel it because they are traveling on a road that was destroyed, but now it is not destroyed. They know how much money they used to spend on repairing their car, and now they spend that money on other purposes. We had a problem with inflation but also showed that the wage growth recorded was 80% higher than inflation. It does not apply to everyone. It may be that the salary has not increased that much, but the statistics are based on large numbers.”
Referring to the security situation in Tegh village, Pashinyan said. “We have 11 km, 5 km from 11 km we considered and have considered problematic. Today, that problematic section has been reduced by another 1.4 km, which means the limit has also been adjusted. It means that Azerbaijanis and we have a common opinion about that point that the border passes through that point. Armenian border guards are stationed at a certain distance from that point; Azerbaijani border guards are stationed at a certain distance.”
They clarified that it is outside the territory of Armenia because they are now in the sovereign territory of Armenia.; Pashinyan replied: “That problematic part, where they were located in the sovereign territory of Armenia, according to my previous statement, was more than 5 km, that problematic part, now that 5 km has become 3.6 km, that is, the border guards worked together have adjusted the border and are located at a certain distance.
