Ruben Vardanyan, Co-Founder of the “We Are Our Mountains” territorial agency and Former Minister of State of the Republic of Artsakh, Ruben Vardanyan responded to the speech of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev during his visit to Lachin, in which he voiced demands to the people of Artsakh.
“Everyone knows well that today we have all the opportunities to carry out any action in that region. Therefore, the parliament should be dissolved, the element that calls itself the president should surrender, and all ministers, deputies, and others should leave their positions. Only then can forgiveness be shown to them. Only then can we talk about some amnesty.”
“The book of “Unification” is closed; the issue of separatism is closed. The dream of independence has gone after the status. We have already sent the status to the right place during the Second Karabakh war,” said the President of Azerbaijan. According to Aliyev, the Armenians of Karabakh have only “one option” – to “submit to the laws of Azerbaijan, be a loyal and normal citizen of Azerbaijan, throw their fake state attributes in the trash, and dissolve the parliament.”
Ruben Vardanyan wrote in this regard: “Aliyev’s statement proves only one thing: the goal of his strategy is the forced displacement or genocide of the people of Artsakh. That is why I moved to Artsakh and always talked about it. What is the official position of Yerevan in this case? It is no longer possible to continue the demagoguery related to the rights of Artsakh Armenians within Azerbaijan. He wants to eliminate or treat the Armenians in Artsakh as enslaved people. Aliyev’s proposed model is a humiliating and dishonorable life with a gun held to our foreheads. I want to reaffirm everything I said in my speech to Hakobavank. We will never agree to that. We will fight until the end. The endpoint is crossed: either you stand in defense of Artsakh or against the entire Armenian people.”
