Together with Hayk Mamijanyan, the Head of the RA NA “With Honor” Faction we met the co-rapporteurs of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Monitoring Committee on Armenia Kimmo Kiljunen and Boriana Åberg.
We drew the co-rapporteurs’ attention to the genocidal actions committed by the Azerbaijani authorities against our compatriots, the necessity to ensure the status, asylum, job for the forcibly displaced Armenians from Nagorno- Karabakh, as well as the problems of Armenian prisoners of war held in Baku until now, the missing people.
At the meeting, we also touched upon the violations of democratic values in the Republic of Armenia, the criminal cases as a tool to suppress the opposition, in particular, the detention as the cases of punishment, the pressures carried out against political prisoners and inner-political other developments.
