The RA NA President Alen Simonyan met with the President of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic Miloš Vystrčil within the framework of his visit to the Czech Republic. In the discussions held in extended format the interlocutors touched upon different issues regarding the wide agenda of the Armenian-Czech relations.
The issues of deepening and developing the cooperation between the parliaments of Armenia and the Czech Republic were at the core of the discussions.
The President of the Senate informed that the deepening of relations with Armenia is important for the Czech Republic, especially after the statement of Armenia on the readiness of being closer to the European Union (EU). In his turn, the RA NA President thanked the Czech side for the wish of having contribution to the EU rapprochement process and the positive attitude in that matter.
Reference was also made to the issues on the current situation in our region, the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace treaty and the theme of repatriation of Armenian prisoners of war being held in Azerbaijan.
