Samvel Babayan’s actions cast doubt
Nine changes have been made in “Dashink’s” proportional list after March 28. Andranik Tevanyan who is number 8 in the list and a lecturer of Russian-Armenian university, Ara Eghiazaryan who is number 16 and senior specialist of the NA staff, Vardan Tovmasyan /N20/, Tigran Petrosyants /N26/, the deputy chief of “Nig-Aparan” union and executive director, N27 Victor Hakobyan who is non party and unemployed, Aris Hakobyan /N32/, major inspector of the Ministry of Municipal Engineering, Hasmik Bareghamyan /N30/, who is a teacher in N83 school, Garegin Ghazaryan /N35/ who was Samvel Babayan’s adherent in NKR and N42 Artak Mirzoyan, the member of olderman in Stepanavan, were out of the list.
Besides Andranik Tevanyan, we also spoke to Tigran Petrosyants, who didn’t want to answer our question. But when we asked whether secretary of “Dashink’s” city soviet Gnel Ghlechyan’s elucidation that those who were out of list didn’t manage to gather all necessary documents for registration was true, Tigran Petrosyants answered: “Yes”.
We should also notice that if he didn’t manage to produce the necessary he must be out of the majority list, too. While Tigran Petrosyants keeps nominating his candidacy N6 polling station.
There are also some questions about Samvel Babayan’s refusal of N 37 polling station. We were interested from Gnel Ghlechyan whether he reaffirms his announcement as if some opposition political forces in N37 polling station have sold the seats of their commissions to some authority forces. Mr. Ghlechyan answered: “I think I’m not a politician who changes his announcement in a week. Yes I have told that. There is still such collaboration between opposition and authority forces. It’s another point that I am not going to publish anyone’s name”. But it is known that “Justice”, “National Unity” and “Rule of Law” have seats in the electoral commissions, and they refuse this accusations expressing astonishment. “Let me also express astonishment on the occasion of their astonishment”,- Gnel Ghlechyan said.
There is another circumstance. According to The Central Electoral Commission, the district electoral commissions will be formed from April 23-26. That means that no opposition party has its members in the district electoral commission, consequently they can’t collaborate with the authorities. “Mr. Ghlechyan told us: “Who tries to deny my affirmations by this explanation, it will mean that he either doesn’t know the current processes or doesn’t want to tell the truth. As we all know that the members of commissions are appointed by persons who have taken certain courses and got license. Mr. Ghlechyan added: “I won’t give names but I affirm that we have come to preliminary arrangement to negotiate both in the territory of the republic and in Syunik marz. We haven’t succeeded in that collaboration”. While the representatives of the above mentioned opposition affirmed that there weren’t even promises.
Samvel Babayan still doesn’t want to comment. He will give an interview to “Aravot” in 10 days. Hmayak Hovanisyan who is the 4th in the list spoke instead of “Dashink’s” leader. In the interview to Lragir.am, he has recognized himself as “the ideologist of Artsakh war” and named Samvel Babayan as the moving power of security area and architect: “Samvel Babayan has played in Artsakh war the role of Georgy Jukov. Hmayak Hovanisyan has also declared: “Samvel Babayan is the founder of Republic of Armenia. Neither Levon Ter-Petrosyan nor any other politician was its founder. Without that security area, without that bright victory, Elchibey and Aliev would win, and Azeris would wash their legs in Lake Sevan. Samvel Babayan is an oppositionist but isn’t against. He is oppositionist in favor RA.”
