On April 21, during a rally initiated by the Armenian National Congress (ANC) in Freedom Square, the Congress leader Levon Ter-Petrossian, talking about the joint staff of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF), the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) and the ANC, said that the staff was a very trustworthy mechanism of supervision over the election, “The staff functions very well, they have started to supervise the breaches that are taking place now, but the attitude of one of the staff members is incomprehensive for me – it is the Heritage Party. Perhaps I am not that educated to understand their attitude. Since I don’t understand, I avoid making comments. Let the one who understands comment.” www.aravot.am inquired from Armen Martirosyan, a representative of the Heritage Party and a member of the National Assembly, why they made such a complex explanation of boycotting that staff’s meetings that it continued to remain incomprehensive for their other colleagues in
the opposition camp, the ANC leader in particular. “I think that the three points in the explanation of the Heritage Party in that regard are quite clear and Ter-Petrossian certainly can and has the ability to understand that, if he wants that or it is in his interest. To understand the explanation of the Heritage Party one just has to be literate and I don’t think that one needs special knowledge to understand that. However, now, frankly speaking, there is no time to make a comment on Ter-Petrossian’s statement. We do our job and we will do everything to struggle for guaranteeing a free, fair and transparent process in the upcoming election. If there is a matter of concern for us, we will alert, as we do, and we will inform the authorities, as well as the interested institutions and their joint staff. I don’t see any particular problem here,” stated the representative of the Heritage Party.
