“It is not about easing tensions, it is about behaving decently. He wants to keep his word,” Ashot Aghababyan, a Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) MP, said in response to a question of www.aravot.am whether the people would consider that issue differently now, since some time had passed, the tensions had eased. And the issue is Ruben Hayrapetyan’s resigning his MP office. Let us remind that Eduard Sharmazanov, the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, informed at an extraordinary session of the parliament that Ruben Hayrapetyan, an RPA MP, had confirmed his statement about resigning his MP office. Hayrapetyan made that statement after an incident had taken place in Harsnakar Restaurant belonging to him, during which doctor Vahe Avetyan had been severely beaten and not coming around, had died.
Ashot Aghababyan thinks that it would be right, if the issue of Hayrapetyan’s resignation was somehow discussed in the parliament. And he sticks to his opinion that Hayrapetyan
shouldn’t have handed in his resignation, “Although it is his right, but a crime could have been committed in any restaurant, why is the owner to blame? Hayrapetyan was elected an MP through majoritarian representation, why should the people suffer?”

Anyway, Ashot Aghababyan treats any decision of Ruben Hayrapetyan with respect.
