“Our party will come up with a statement. We demand immediate disclosure of the incident. It seems to be the continuation of the violence that occurs towards the representatives of opposition parties and civil activists. The series of beatings, especially after September 3, which take place not by the police but by people in civilian clothes, whether they now are called neighborhood hooligans, or some dressed in law enforcement, I do not know. That’s why we demand it to be disclosed. I think that it would not be difficult for the authorities if there is a political requirement. If not, we will naturally draw conclusions,”- so assessed “Heritage” party spokesman Hovsep Khurshudyan in the interview with Aravot.am regarding the beating incident of Vigen Davtyan distributing Raffi Hovannisian’s leaflets.
We clarified whether it was the continuation of Haykak Arshamyan’s and Suren Saghatelyan’s beating, Hovsep Khurshudyan answered, – “It looks so. So far, this incident has not been revealed as well, although all possibilities were there.”
Hovsep Khurshudyan is not sure whether Vigen Davtyan’s beating was just a random result or planned. “Our task is to reach the point that our law enforcement agencies do their job. If they are not able to detect such small crimes, what can we demand from them in terms of identifying more global crimes?”
