“New Armenia” Public Salvation Front
The imperative of National Solidarity

The Political Council of “New Armenia” Public Salvation Front condemns the resumption of hostilities in the zone of Artsakh conflict, and expresses condolences to the families and friends of our compatriots killed in the result of it.
We witness an obviously harsh conflict emerged in the Middle East and the Caucasus between the global and regional power centers, which turns into an existential threat for the Republic of Armenia, Artsakh and the entire Armenian nation.
In such conditions, Azerbaijan’s actions should be viewed as an attempt to blast the status quo formerly established in the zone of Atsakh conflict.
In case of preserving such sustainable tension or its escalation, an irrevocable loss of the status quo will be inevitable. Consequently, Armenia should be ready to present its vision of a new status quo and initiate appropriate actions for its approval.
Taking into account the quantitative and qualitative characteristics of military conflict, it becomes apparent that the restoration of the existing status quo, and especially the establishment of a new status quo, will require overstrained moral, intellectual and material forces and mobilization of all Armenian defense power.
In Artsakh first war, the key to success was the existing national solidarity, due to which the selfless dedication of thousands of citizens became possible and we achieved military victory despite the inequality in material forces.
The military and political inequality still exists, the hostilities have recommenced, but there is an obvious split of national solidarity. Therefore, the urgent and constant recovery of national solidarity becomes the major imperative and an unavoidable condition for ensuring the combat readiness of the Armenian side and its victory, for which the elimination of mistrust and tension between the ruling oligarchic regime and people is necessary.
Hence, some urgent steps are required such as the immediate release of all political prisoners, amnesty announcement for those who have not committed serious crimes against human or national interests, bringing the illegally obtained oligarchic resources to serve the defense of Motherland, steps towards reestablishment of constitutionality and establishment of social and legal justice.
These are the correlated conditions, which will not only allow using the major part of inflated forces of the police in defense purposes, but also will insure moral-psychological prerequisites for national solidarity.
The Political Council of “New Armenia” Public Salvation Front declares that in case the above-mentioned requirements aimed at restoring the national solidarity are not accomplished all calls for mobilization, achieving victory or establishing peace become worthless. Consequently, the regime henceforth shall be fully accountable for putting Artsakh and the Armenian statehood under the threat of loss.
