Armenian rapporteurs, as well as foreign guests, attended the “BarCamp Yerevan 2016” unconference. Executive Direct of JumpStart Georgia Tbilisi NGO, Eric Barrett, made a presentation on who to find, share, reveal and visualize data. In an interview with Aravot.am, Eric Barrett said that their organization wants to help the media, NGOs, and research organizations for a lot of times they do not know that such information exists, that they have an access to them and can use these data.
Eric Barrett is in Armenia for the third time, “I think that what Armenians do in the information technologies is great. I think that it is sad that often people do not know that what they use, be it a program or computer hardware, is from Armenia. Armenia needs to communicate more and prove the people that Armenia is a good target for organizations to work and cooperate with the locals.” He considers that Armenia has a great future in the sphere for the development of information technologies, and choosing this pathway is crucial for Armenia, “This is the future of the world, everything is based on information technologies and has a technical component. Armenia can be and should be the great part of it.”
