Armenian Embassy in the Islamic Republic of Iran released a security alert to its citizens on Wednesday, indicating that they should avoid places in capital Tehran where special operations are being held by law enforcement following the reported armed attacks on the Iranian parliament and the Mausoleum of late revolutionary leader Ayatollah Khomeini in early morning of June 7.

The Embassy specifically advises Armenian nationals to avoid visiting southern districts of the capital Tehran, crowds and other places of public gatherings (metro, marker, etc.).

The Embassy called in its statement to contact it in case of any emergency on the following number and email address:
Tel: (0098) 21 6670 4833,
e-mail: [email protected]

“The Embassy follows the development and will provide further updates as they emerge,” the release said, adding no reports about Armenians and citizens of Armenia suffered during the attacks received.
