“Unlike all previous programs, this program has been developed within a specific strategic agenda, which is about the RA President Serzh Sargsyan’s speech at the opening session of the sixth convocation of National Assembly… This is the evolution of the Prime Minister’s previous program, its continuation. I consider this program moving from the stabilizing policy into developing policy. The program is ambitious, and I believe every program should be such, otherwise it will be criticized more. The government program is not a business project but a policy document”, economist Atom Margaryan expressed such an opinion at the meeting with journalists.
He considered the 5% GDP growth expected by the government’s program to be realistic and highlighted not only the 5% growth of the GDP, but also the increase in the minimum wage, and poverty reduction by 12 points.
Economist Vilen Khachatryan noticed that calculations show that in 2022 we will have 14 billion dollars GDP, and if the export growth is 40-45%, then in 2022, we will have 6.3 billion dollars export, “Investments in 2017 are negative and as compared with the previous year, it dropped more from 9 billion drams, which indicates that almost no investment has been made, which will give new results”.
According to Mr. Khachatryan, the government does not have the scenario approach, “There are good ideas in the government’s program but there is no component of financial feasibility”.
