Vahan Shirkhanyan will announce his position on the decoding of his and Arthur Vardanyan’s conversations, which were recorded announced at the previous court hearing on the case of neutralizing an “armed group” in Nork Marash in 2015. His defender Hayk Alumyan informed about this.
“In his testimony, he will tell in detail whatever he finds necessary. This record was made secretly, while the decision on another criminal case made by the Court of Appeal states that secret recording cannot be used as evidence, and be put in the basis of the charge. This recording cannot be used as evidence, and no conjecture can be built on it. Besides, there was no evidence who were the speakers in the recording once it appeared in the case, that is, there is no such fact in the case from which it can be said, that yes, this conversation is between Vahan Shirkhanian and Arthur Vardanyan, that is to say, the evidence we have examined so far does not give us such a basis. The decoder has mentioned Vahan Shirkhanyan’s, Arthur Vardanyan’s and Lilit’s names on the top of the transcript, that is, that decoder was not an expert to say who were the speakers, he just decided so by himself. By the way, until then Vahan Shirkhaynyan was not even interrogated yet, so that they could have found similarities between his voice and the recording, and the recording has not been even published so far, only the transcript of it. So, when there will be evidence that this conversation was between these three, then Vahan Shirkhanyan will comment on that conversation, and after that, when we are convinced that nothing is edited, we will talk more about it later”, Hayk Alumyan told Aravot.am.

Arthur Vardanyan: “Does Seyran know that such thing might happen?”.
Vahan Shirkhanyan: “I have told him. Nothing related to you, but that the people are so much full of hatred, that one day you will hear television reporting that such thing has happened. What will you do? He said he would not act against the people”.
Arthur Vardanyan: “Can he deal with the army so that tanks are not brought out to the streets? There will be victory, but soldiers will die in vain”.
Vahan Shirkhanyan: “No, no tanks will be brought out”.
Arthur Vardanyan: “And what about the internal troops?”.
Vahan Shirkhanyan: “If it does not turn into a battle in the city…”.
Arthur Vardanyan: “Even if it turns out to be so, the Ministry of Defence should not interfere”.
We asked Hayk Alumyan whether during the preliminary investigation he and his client have listened to the recording, whether identification of voices has been carried out: “”Who says we have not listened to? If we interrogate the defendants and they say that this is their conversation, or if we have an expert opinion, that it is their conversation, then that will be normal, but until that it is desirable to note about it with reservations”.
