“We have fallen behind schedule, we admit it, but yesterday Nikol Pashinyan gave clear instructions which allow us to say that there will be no deviation from the agenda, both in terms of the program and documentation”, said Foreign Ministry Spokesman Tigran Balayan, referring to the question whether to what extent the recent domestic political events in Armenia reflected on the preparations for the Francophonie summit to be held in Armenia in autumn.
He informed that within the framework of the summit in Yerevan it is planned to sign one of the fundamental documents of the Francophonie: “We will receive more than 100 delegations, and soon an organizational delegation will arrive in Armenia and meet with responsible agencies”.
As regards the ratification of Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Expanded Partnership agreement, Tigran Balayan noted: “The terms are valid, there is no change. We are waiting for the ratification of the document by the parliaments of EU member states, to start its application”. According to Balayan, the Delegation of the US Deputy Secretary of State will also arrive in Armenia at the end of May. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s visit to Georgia is scheduled for May 30-31.
