The Armenian Council of America joined leaders from across the Armenian American community at the “Armenians in America” Freedom 250 event at the Organization of American States in Washington, DC. Co-hosted by the Embassy of Armenia and the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU), the program highlighted the enduring contributions of Armenian Americans to the United States—including those who served in the U.S. Armed Forces. ACA Board Chairman Sevak Khatchadorian and Executive Director of Government Relations Taniel Koushakjian were in attendance alongside senior government officials and community leaders.
Guests were presented with a commemorative reproduction of AGBU’s 1951 publication Our Boys, honoring Armenian American servicemen and women during World War II and preserving their stories of service and sacrifice. The event featured remarks from Armenian Ambassador Narek Mkrtchyan, AGBU leadership, Freedom 250 CEO Keith Krach, and U.S. Under Secretary of Commerce Jeffrey Kessler, emphasizing the shared values that underpin the U.S.-Armenia relationship.
“Armenian Americans have long contributed to the civic and economic fabric of our country, and that legacy continues to shape our role in the deepening of U.S.-Armenia relations,” said Taniel Koushakjian, ACA Executive Director of Government Relations in Washington, DC.
