‘In reality Aliyev has to say Yerevan is going to become ‘a part of Azerbaijan’: Karine Gevorgyan

According to Russian military experts, a restart of military actions is possible in the Line of Contact between Armenia and Azerbaijan in the future, informed Russia residing political scientist, Karine Gevorgyan, summarizing the views of his colleague political scientist Karine Gevorgyan.

Gevorgan’s opinion as an expert, however, differs from the mentioned viewpoint. She highlights first and foremost that as the Defense Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Davit Tonoyan has announced, Russia has completely supplied Armenia the military arms and weapons provided upon the loan contract, even such types of weapons that do not exist in the reserves of the Russian side.

“This is a message implying: “ let us live peacefully, we will not allow for Azerbaijan to escalate the situation in South Caucasus.” Any destabilization in the South Caucasus will bring forth the situation of North Caucasus. This is the reason why Russia is not interested in the escalation between Artsakh and Azerbaijan in reality,” said Karine Gevorgyan.

As characterized by her, the rhetorics if the Azerbaijani President of the latest period has inner reasons: “Aliyev has to say that for his own public, as if Yerevan is going to become “a part of Azerbaijan soon”. As regards the fact that the adversary creates tension in the border between Armenia and Nakhijevan regularly, the expert mentioned: “There is a serious terrorist factor on Nakhijevan section besides Turkish troops. The terrorists have appeared in Nakhijevan through Turkey’s territory. Moscow knows about it and follows the situation attentively.”
