Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan sent a condolence message to the family of former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan. Nikol Pashinyan’s message reads in part, “I was deeply grieved to learn about the demise of former UN Secretary-General, Nobel Prize laureate and world-renowned figure Kofi Annan. Kofi Annan devoted his life and activities to the cause of building a more equitable and peaceful world. Assuming the United Nations’ leadership in a difficult and challenging time for the Organization, he managed to combine courage and determination with unlimited optimism and humanism in the best possible manner.
On leaving the office of UN Secretary-General, Kofi Annan continued his tireless struggle for peace and remained committed to human rights, democracy and humanitarian values throughout his life. His bright name will be alive in our hearts forever.
I express deep condolences and sympathy to Kofi Annan’s family, close relatives and the entire international community over this heavy loss.”
