‘The upcoming national elections are likely the last ones I will participate in’: Raffi Hovhannisyan

September 25,2018 20:39

Founder of the “Heritage” party was speaking about the new political system and about political rearrangements. He was asked about which role he sees himself in in the new system- opposition or authority- and whether there will be rearrangements within the “Heritage” party. Raffi Hovhannisyan answered, “The upcoming national elections will likely be the last ones I will be participating in because the new Armenia’s new generation and the political area will need a new format and new solutions.” He said that the administrative head is Armen Martirosyan and he emphasized that he is against fake barricades. “The new Armenia needs a comfortable new approach.” Raffi Hovhannisyan said that he will be an administrative member of “Heritage.” “‘Heritage’ does not have an aversion to new generations.”

Regarding “Heritage”’s place, Raffi Hovhannisyan said that if the “Civil Contract,” under the leadership of the prime minister, wants to continue the fight in a unified format, without messing up the fight in a smooth political way, they will talk about a coalition or consolidation approach, which they have always been in support of. And if that is what will happen- if the unified people’s movement will create a political party sooner than necessary- then they will become an opposition as friends and as colleagues, with the thought that they want to politicize and award themselves with Armenian values and a united approach.
