Regarding the meeting between the Armenian and Azeri Foreign Ministers with the OSCE Minsk group co-chairs in Milan, Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan told reporters that they made an agreement on a message. “There is no news on the Artsakh issue. You can see the amount of action taking place. We can consider the current level of activity to be low, or a little higher. Anjey Kasprshik occassionally comes to the region. Since Kasprshik’s visits typically have a very official nature, there have been times that these visits have not been reporters. I ordered my cabinet to report on all meetings so that the process will be transparent.”
Regarding Azeri Foreign Minister Elmar Mamedyarov’s announcement that they have succeeded in coming to a mutual understanding with the Armenian government, Nikol Pashinyan said, “When the Azeri side makes any sort of commentary that contains elements of optimism, I am honestly surprised by the responses from some people on the Armenian side that this is some sort of conspiracy. That is when they say that there is a chance that the Artsakh conflict will be resolved. I wonder why there is no such presumptions from the perspective of the Armenian government that perhaps the Armenian government was successful in making convincing arguments.”
Regarding the observation that the fact that Azerbaijan was the first to speak about it brings doubt, Pashinyan said, “When I came from Saint Petersburg and I saw that Azerbaijan was the first to make a statement, I saw that many conclusions are made based off of that. Generally, I think and I claim that no government in Armenia has been as transparent about the Artsakh issue as the current one.”
