About the immortal Gagik Malintsyan

On February 11, 2002, Gagik was born into the Malintsyan family. The kind, smart, hardworking, trustworthy, friendly, and modest boy had all the positive characteristics. There was always a smile on his face. If anyone ever needed his help, Gagik helped everyone without exception.

He went to the Number 4 high school in Goris. He was an exemplary student and loved by all his teachers.

He had many dreams that remained incomplete. He graduated high school in 2018 and was accepted into the Faculty of History at the Yerevan State University. He was studying Caucasian studies. He wanted to become an expert on the Caucasus.

Gagik’s friends said that they enjoyed every event with him so much that they would forget that they needed to go home. He would always tell jokes to make everyone happy. He had a large circle of friends that feels his absence now more than ever.

Everyone knew and loved him in the city. Gagik was unique in his movements. People said that Gagik made such unique movements when he danced that it was impossible to not recognize him. On the day of his graduation, Gagik said, “My dear friends, today we graduate high school and enter a new stage of life, a new road, where we must travel on our own to try and be successful. Success must surround us our whole lives. Although we are graduating high school today, that does not mean the end. This is a song that has not been sung, a book that has not been read, which we must finish as happily as we finished our years in school. We must overcome every seemingly impossible obstacle and move forward. Time is moving like a wheel, but even in one year or ten years, we will meet one another and remember the time we spent in school. And although years will pass, that meeting will not have taken place.”

Gagik had a girlfriend whom he had promised that he would return. But… the last time they spoke on the phone was November 6th.

Gagik became immortal as he participated in tense battles. Now, he is in the purest place where he visits his relatives in dreams and tells them, “Tell my mom not to cry.”
