The Goris Security Council is holding an awareness rally. Streets in Yerevan were closed for 44 minutes. Ara Zohrabyan, a member of the Goris Security Council and one of the organizers of the rally, stated that the police were carrying out an illegal operation without any reason, as people were demonstrating peaceful disobedience.
“The man was talking quietly here, but they used physical force. The police must always respond to the use of unreasonable physical force so that we do not fall on this day. When our people are in such an indifferent state, it is natural that the states negotiating with Armenia will try to advance their demands,”
Ara Zohrabyan said. Ara Zohrabyan sees an anti-Armenian attitude in the ongoing processes and does not see the will of the Armenian government to protect the Armenian interests. The protesters claim that they do not represent any political force or serve the interests of any force. They have come out to fight to prevent another tragedy threatening Armenia, and to go out to fight is each individual decision. There are several times more police forces than there are protesters.

The police were able to use force to remove the protesters from the streets. All of Ara Zohrabyan’s efforts to explain to the police to stop the illegal actions and to carry out the service in the prescribed manner were in vain. The police claimed that the protesters were obstructing traffic and they were given time to stop the protests. Ara Zohrabyan countered, “Wasn’t the traffic stopped in 2018?” One of the demonstrators said that the arrest would not solve the problem, as more people would take to the streets tomorrow.
