Stepan Danielyan: No political speech has been made at the opposition rallies until now

May 13,2022 13:44

Political scientist Stepan Danielyan during the discussion entitled “Armenian agenda: situation and solution” said that the Armenian government hasn’t been adequate since 2018 which led to the war.

He found it difficult to assess whether it was the result of ignorance, religious deviation, or a program implemented by Nikol Pashinyan. But he said that these steps continue. The political scientist has analyzed the demand of the international community for Armenia and Azerbaijan to reach a certain agreement, take concrete steps towards demarcation and delimitation, and concluded that the Western plan is the final resolution of the Artsakh issue with the prospect of ousting Russia from the region. Russia needs the conflict to remain ongoing so that it can have its army in Armenia and Artsakh and maintain its influence on the South Caucasus. And Azerbaijan fulfills all of its demands with support from Turkey and other countries.

Referring to the opposition, in this context, the political scientist said that he wants the opposition to say clearly what problem they want to solve. According to the first option, they want to prevent the signing of the peace treaty, according to the second option, they want to delay the change of the government by waiting for the resolution of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. And according to the third option, they say in case of coming to power, they are not going to hand over Verin Shorzha and lake Sev to Azerbaijan, and they won’t recognize Artsakh as part of Azerbaijan.

Moreover, by taking the power the opposition must take the responsibility as well. Stepan Danielyan criticized the opposition also for not making political speeches at the rallies, which could have changed the public attitude.
