January 13,2023 15:03

“In the language of international law, this is called a crime against humanity. Azerbaijan is carrying out ethnic cleansing and genocidal policy at the level of the country’s head”, said Gegham Stepanyan, human rights defender of the Artsakh Republic, at the discussion organized by the Artsakh public television company on the occasion of the one-month siege of Artsakh by Azerbaijan.

He emphasized that according to the tripartite declaration of November 9, Azerbaijan must ensure the safe movement of people and cargos through the Lachin Corridor. Still, it has not fulfilled the obligation for a month, which violates people’s right to free movement. “International law also states that forcing people to die of starvation is a war crime.” Gegham Stepanyan also mentioned that the involvement of the Armenian Diaspora is essential in this situation.
