American University of Armenia “Aurora” Gratitude Scholarship winners will complete their internship at the Center for Law and Justice “Tatoyan” Foundation

Attention to humanitarian issues is paramount in conflict and post-conflict situations. Mr. Arman Tatoyan, the director of the Center for Law and Justice “Tatoyan” Foundation, said this during a meeting with the recipients of the “Aurora” gratitude scholarship.
“During the 44-day war and after that, the rights and security of the civilian population, the border residents affected by armed attacks, the collection of the facts of violation of their rights and their protection, paying special attention to the rights of journalists, children, women, the elderly, etc., have a primary place in our work. As a result of the Azerbaijani invasions of RA, some water resources came under their control, which caused serious problems of access to water and the right to use water safely,” said Arman Tatoyan, while emphasizing that humanitarian issues should be raised, solutions proposed and everything done not to allow political interests to harm rights and security.
During the workshop jointly organized by “Aurora” humanitarian initiative, “Scholae Mundi Armenia” charitable foundation and the American University of Armenia (AAU), which was dedicated to the former and current students of the university, who received “Aurora” gratitude scholarship for studying at the university in different years, the director of the Foundation presented their activities to the scholarship holders who will be able to complete internship in several organizations, including the foundation, getting involved in various activities, including the preparation of reports.
It should be noted that in order to promote humanitarian values, since 2017, in cooperation with Scholae Mundi Armenia, the “Aurora” humanitarian initiative has been sponsoring the “Aurora” gratitude scholarship, which provides an opportunity for Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Russia, Georgia, Artsakh and Students with Iranian citizenship to study at AAU, partially or fully covering the tuition fees.
The main speaker of the workshop was Jamila Afghani, laureate of the “Aurora World Humanitarian Award”, human rights activist, founder of “Nur” Education and Capacity Development Organization (NECDO), who dedicated 25 years of her life to the cause of providing education to Afghan women.
