What is the government afraid of in authoritarian countries? It is not scared of curses, threats, and insults. When the opposition circles threaten the autocratic leader to “punish him like Ceausescu,” it is unacceptable to me for two reasons.
First, I am categorically against even the remotest hints about a “revolutionary tribunal” regarding my country. Secondly, it is ultimately beneficial to these authorities because any opposition to populism and sowing hatred will lose to Pashinyan’s regime; today, great masters of inflaming “people-pleasing” passions are sitting in the seats of power.
Therefore, such passions do not threaten the authorities at all. And what does it represent? It is the self-organization of the citizens. After all, we are talking about civil society in the true sense of the word, not in the “Armenian” (“NGO-h/k”) definition of the word.
An actual civil society consists of voluntary associations of people for specific purposes. That spontaneous solidarity is truly a force that can make a difference.

By the way, the authorities of Armenia also understand this (they are not so naive that they don’t understand), but they pretend that they are fighting for the “rights and security” of the people of Artsakh.
Real civil society is always a threat to these types of regimes. This is why the “Hayakve” initiative receives such harsh official counter-propaganda. The main argument is “incitement to war.” It can be answered with two questions for those who think so.
How many Armenian service members were killed in 2020 after November 9, and how many tens of square kilometers did we lose from the sovereign territory of RA during that time? It will become apparent who is instigating the war with honest answers to those questions.
