Law on Compensation for Damages Caused to the Life or Health of Servicemen during RA Defense improved

The draft designs also to include the persons not being temporarily appointed in the military service by the working contract to the vacant military position in the order established by law among the beneficiaries having the right to receive compensation for damages caused to the life or health of servicemen during the defense of the Republic of Armenia.

The RA Deputy Minister of Defence Arman Sargsyan said this, presenting for debate in the first reading at the regular sitting of the National Assembly the draft law on Making Addenda and Amendments to the law on Compensation for Damages Caused to the Life or Health of Servicemen during RA Defense.

The necessity of its adoption is conditioned by the purpose of providing the compensation for the damage caused to life of the person not being in military service appointed to a vacant military position, as well as specifying a number of relations of the procedure for compensation of damages of the person who dies because of the adversary’s pre-offensive actions during military operations unleashed by Azerbaijan on September 13-14, 2022.

The Deputy Minister clarified that the problem came up regarding tone of our compatriots who died during the aggression by Azerbaijan in September 2022, who not being a military person, was appointed in a military position. His family cannot become a beneficiary for Zinapah Foundation. This problem will be solved by the adoption of the draft. “God forbid, in case of such cases later, we’ll not have this kind of problem,” Arman Sargsyan clarified.

The NA Head Committee endorsed the draft.

As a result of voting the parliament in the first reading passed the draft law.
