EU Ambassador to Armenia attended the “10th Technical Meeting for Coordination of the International Assistance to Armenian Nuclear Power Plant (ANPP) and Armenian Nuclear Regulatory Authority (ANRA) which took place in Metsamor.
The EU cooperation in the field of nuclear safety since the nineties has been marked by the exchange of technologies, best practices, training, radioactive waste management and nuclear safeguards. The EU’s financial support to nuclear safety in Armenia, amounting to over €70 million in grants since the nineties, is a clear sign of the EU commitment.
The Ambassador also mentioned the 4 ongoing projects at ANPP for €11 million and 1 ongoing project at ANRA for €1.5 million, under the European Instrument for International Nuclear Safety Cooperation (INSC).
