Policy analyst Eldar Mamedov has criticized statements from some circles at the Hudson Institute that, in his view, seek to justify Azerbaijan’s actions.
“In what depraved, twisted mind does ethnic cleansing ever become ‘cool’? Newsflash for apologists at the Hudson Institute: ethnic cleansing isn’t ‘visionary diplomacy’—it’s a war crime. Shame on you,” Mamedov wrote on X.
His post referred to a statement by Hudson Institute researcher Zineb Riboua, who recalled that years ago Hudson Institute senior fellow Michael Doran (Mike Doran) had visited Azerbaijan and advocated for Azerbaijan–Armenia peace, stronger U.S.–Azerbaijan and Israel–Azerbaijan relations, and the development of the “Middle Corridor.”
