On the fourth day of his mission in Armenia, coach Johnny Mouradian continued his biblical road trip in the city of Gyumri, where he also spent time reading the Bible.
One of the Bible readings of coach Johnny for this day came from Mark 4: “A farmer went out to sow his seed as he was scattering the seed some fell along path and the the birds came up and ate it up, some fell on rocky places where it did not have much soil it sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow but the sun came up the plants, were scorched and they withered, because they had no root. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and chocked the plants, so they did not bear grain still other seed fell on good soil it came up grew produced a crop some multiplying 30 some 60 some 100 times.”

As he read the Bible in Gyumri, Coach Johnny continued to inspire Armenians to bring a family member to church this Sunday and every Sunday.
When during Aravot.am interview we asked Mr. Mouradian about the spirit of Gyumri and what he experienced there, he described the day as deeply meaningful. “I felt very, very Christian Orthodox when I walked into the church in Gyumri”,- he said. He recalled hearing part of the Patarag and the way its sounds echoed throughout the church as the priest read from the Bible. For him, the experience was very special. He also visited the cathedral of the Holly Mother of God (Yot Verk/Seven Wounds), where he had been before while it was still under construction. Seeing the completed church and its beautiful interior and paintings left a strong impression on him. “It was a very moving day to see both churches in Gyumri”,- Mr. Mouradian said, reflecting on the spiritual and cultural significance of his visit.
Mr. Mouradian is currently on a 12-day road trip across Armenia, visiting 12 remarkable locations and sharing 12 daily Bible-reading videos across all six Armenian Lacrosse social media platforms from August 11 through August 22, 2026. The second annual Armenian Sixes Lacrosse Championships is also being held in Armenia during his visit.
The Gyumri Tournament featured teams from Akhtala, Lenakan, Vandazor and Gyumri, while the Vayk Tournament includes Surenavan, Kaghtsrashen, Metsamor, Aknalij, and Vayk. The top two teams from each regional event will advance to the Championship round on Wednesday, August 19th, at Vahagni Golf Club, where they will compete for the Gold, Silver and Bronze medals. After the Gyumri tournament Vanadzor, Akhtala, Lenakan advance to the championship tournament on Wednesday.
