Aspet Kuchakian, the Armenian analyst from Lebanon, thinks.
” Armenia-Diaspora relations need in more systematic and efective actions, more fficient program steps than Pan-Armenian Games are or “Armenia-Diaspora” conferences”,- Aspet Kuchukian from Lebanon declared in “Urbat” club.
In his opinion, the financial assistance of Diaspora is not so important for Armenia, and “Armenia-Diaspora” conferences and Pan-Armenian games aren\’t so effective in practice. The analyst thinks that only pan-Armenian events aren\’t enough to use the whole power of Diaspora. “The law on Dual citizenship was adopted last year. A lot of Diaspora members are interested what procedures they should follow to get Armenian nationality living in Glendale”,- Mr. Kuchakian said, stressing that the actions on that issue are being late.
The harmony between Armenia and Diaspora is also very important for the regional isolation. In this case he considers important the Diaspora\’s pragmatic but not romantic and nostalgic attitudes towards Armenia. He has emphasized that Diaspora should consider Armenia as a state first of all and as a homeland after. According to “Panorama.am” the analyst also thinks that the Genocide has been the only stymulus for Diaspora unification for many years. But he thinks that a new generation is growing up in Diaspora, for whom Armenia isn\’t a dream as it was for their parents.
A. Kuchukyan also thinks that it is wrong to look for responsibilities for internal affairs of Armenia outside the country. “Today, when we speak about the corruption, they say that the reason is outside pressure. No, they are internal issues and should be solved inside the country. It is not right to find its reasons out of the country”.
