The Defense Ministry Officials Don’t Re-Sign Contracts – They Prefer to Go and Enrich Canada

May 31,2012 17:14

A new wave of emigration from our country has started. Hundreds of families have already sold their houses and left to enrich Canada. According to the information of www.aravot.am, it has come to the army – many of former defense ministry officials whose service contracts have expired, apply to the International Organization for Migration and other agents these days to be included in the migration project of leaving for Canada. Some citizens have already left. There is a great demand for laborers, turners, engineers, nannies, doctors, programmers and people of other professions in that country. As opposed to the European countries, where Armenians emigrate illegally, Canada organizes legal emigration, I should say immigration, into its country immediately solving the issue of the migrant’s residency status. By the way, one needs elementary level of English proficiency to be included in the program.

Let us remind that a similar program Compatriots’ Return was carried out by Russia in our country, “thanks to” which hundreds of Armenian families left Armenia and went to “enrich” Siberia. In response to a question of www.aravot.am how many people had left our country through that project, Irina Davtyan, the deputy head of the State Migration Service, said that they had no data or information, since it was carried out by the Canadian government. According to Ms. Davtyan, they made a request for data to the Canadian Embassy in Moscow, but the embassy didn’t answer the questions of the Armenian side.

The fact that it has come to the army and contract servicemen who are paid a more or less normal salary prefer to emigrate should probably cause our country’s officials to think seriously.
