The “Requiem for Prometheus” with hyperdense factual information and with emphasized artistry
The US-based writer and publicist Armen Alan’s book “Requiem for Prometheus” was published. The book illustrates the extensive panorama of completed and continued global decisive events about the Armenian generation lived and living in the 50-90-ies of the 20th century, based on the activities of the “Beatles” quartet and later the civic activities of John Lennon separated from the group. In an interview with “Aravot”, Armen Allan noted that the book reveals political assassinations, unfulfilled dreams, unknown martyrs and forgotten heroes, the Beatles and Paradjanov, the Afghan war and “reconstructed” USSR, decrypted pages of the intelligence service and new coils of continued frauds, material evidence of alien civilization and possible disasters threatening the fate of the Earth, the flights of the spirit and moral decline, ultimately, devalued human life and divine plans of the new world order. “On December 8, 1980, the “song was killed” in New York. A criminal named M. Chapman “added” a bloody page with five straight shots in the chronicles of the rock music and the history in general, and the newspapers and magazines were printed with special releases: “In Manhattan district of New York, in front of the building called “Dakota”, in the presence of his wife Yoko Ono, the founder of “The Beatles” legendary quartet, singer and composer John Winston Lennon is murdered,” – says the author in the book. Then, he adds that Lennon’s death was mourned by the entire generation whose voice and conscience Lennon was trying to become in his lifetime. The generation whose children were dying in the nameless, unfair and senseless, big and small wars going on in Vietnam, Ireland, Afghanistan, Lebanon and other places on the planet, without realizing until this last moment for whom and why their blood is shed, falling into the swamp of drug addiction and crime, are seeking values in outwardly wild deviations and wandering, which were transgressed by high ranking scums who were standing in constantly admiring financial heights and holding the ruling reins in their hands.
And Lennon words are cited: “I am an artist and my art is peace, simply I was born a musician.” In the superfast atmosphere of our time, a man is afraid to take a bulky book, constantly thinking that he is not going to find time to read it. But Armen Alan’s “Requiem”, which is distinguished by its unique and highly dynamic style and super-rich arguments of global media of the 20th century, which seems to become a separate book in the book, which tells about the 20th century events based on emphasized fictional and documentary description, enriched with extremely dense factual information of the activities of the well-known singer of his times aimed at the maintenance of global peace of Prometheus: the activities of the “Beatles” quartet and John Lennon.
The experts are sure that the reader will not have the problem of “finding time”. Indeed, the voluminous book is read with one breath, no one wishes to put the book aside even for a moment. The events going on in different countries of the world in the 20th century and the figures are assembled in an encyclopedic form, and the most significant events are so attractively presented that the events like the video of the famous song “Help” by the “Beatles” proceed at a breathtaking speed, at the same time collecting the courageous process of all events in one “burning” focal point. Together with the birth of the “Beatles” quartet and guest tours around the world, the reader appears in different countries of the world delighted with new achievements and at the same time, tragically mourning for the disasters brought by the injustices, plots and groundless wars. The book is unique for the Armenian reader and the Armenian man as the author, Armen Allan, born in Yerevan where he had spent his childhood and youth, was the participant of the most active youth, cultural and civic movements, later, as a result of political transformation in Armenia and the Soviet country, he had moved to the US and immediately involved in literary-journalistic activities. On the biographical bridge-base of Armenia-world, the Armenian events are constantly included in the global movement of the 20th century, both the Armenian and non-Armenian reader finds and estimated the life of Armenia in the maelstrom of world events. It seems that there are rare books where Armenia-world bridge is clearly presented, with all its good and bad, recognizable and unrecognizable, acceptable and unacceptable events.
